Regular Season Round 14: Djurgarden - AIK 82-78

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of AIK (9-1) on the court of top-ranked Djurgarden on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Djurgarden 82-78. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-16. But AIK won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Djurgarden won last quarter 24-21. 26 personal fouls committed by AIK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was British-Nigerian Oladapo Ayuba (198-86, college: UMKC) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. American power forward Joseph Taylor (203-85, college: Wyoming) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Djurgarden players scored in double figures. Forward Alexander Holmstrom-Forster (198-92) produced 14 points and 5 rebounds and Nils Johansson (198-97) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. AIK's coach Stefan Jovanovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Djurgarden (10-0) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Newly promoted Djurgarden maintains first position with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row. AIK at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the second place with one game lost.
