Regular Season Round 2: Homenetmen - Tadamon 96-80

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Tadamon (1-1) in Beirut on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Homenetmen (2-0) 96-80. The game was mostly controlled by Homenetmen. Tadamon managed to win second period 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Homenetmen outrebounded Tadamon 51-40 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Homenetmen made 10 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Dewayne Jackson (203-90, college: Morgan St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) who scored 31 points and 9 rebounds. South Sudanese center Ater Majok (208-87, college: Connecticut) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks. Four Homenetmen players scored in double figures. American forward Maurice Kemp (203-91, college: E.Carolina, agency: Duran International) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Earvin Morris (196-94, college: UTEP) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Tadamon's coach Paul Coughter rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Homenetmen is looking forward to face Al Moutahed (#6) in Tripoli in the next round where they are favorite. Tadamon will play at home against Champville and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
