Regular Season Round 5: Giants - Shockers 109-77

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Giants as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Giants smashed 4th placed Shockers at home 109-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shockers. Giants forced 21 Shockers turnovers and had a 43-31 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Trent Cox (196, college: Our Lady Lake) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. The former international point guard Jeffrey Henfield (193-85, college: Tarleton St.) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Giants players scored in double figures. Salathiel Dean produced 10 points and 9 rebounds and William Rigby added 17 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Regulators. Shockers at the other side keep the fourth place with three games lost. Shockers will play next round against Stingers trying to get back on the winning streak. Giants will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Pros at home.
