Regular Season Round 9: Taiwan Beer - Fubon Braves 76-69

There was a change at the SBL leadership position after last games. Round 9 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Fubon Braves (9-3). They were defeated by fourth ranked Taiwan Beer (6-6) 76-69 on Friday night. Taiwan Beer forced 19 Fubon Braves turnovers. Strangely Fubon Braves outrebounded Taiwan Beer 44-30 including 19 on the offensive glass. American center Bryan Davis (206-86, college: Texas A&M) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks for the winners and forward Yi-Tsung Chu (186-86) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Taiwan Beer's coach Chia-Hua Yan used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Canadian center Liam McMorrow (218-87, college: Tenn Tech) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and the former international swingman Wen-Cheng Tsai (190-85) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. Four Fubon Braves players scored in double figures. Taiwan Beer have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 6-6 record. Fubon Braves at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Dacin Tigers who have the same record. Fubon Braves will play next round against Bank of Taiwan trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Taiwan Beer will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
