Regular Season Round 16: Abejas - Barreteros 71-80

Round 16 most important game was a victory of Barreteros over 7th ranked Abejas 80-71 on Friday night. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-19. But Abejas won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Carl Jones (180-91, college: St.Joseph's) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 5 assists. The other American import guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Puerto Rican point guard Andres Torres (177-89, college: Hartford, agency: Paris Global Sports) replied with 16 points and American forward Steffphon Pettigrew (196-89, college: W.Kentucky, agency: HMS) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Abejas. Four Abejas players scored in double figures. Barreteros (7-9) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Santos. Abejas at the other side dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost.
