LEB Gold top team - Gipuzkoa (10-4) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat fifteenth ranked Magia Huesca (4-10) in San Sebastian 69-58. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 11 points. The best player for the winners was forward Sergi Pino (197-87, agency: Interperformances) who scored 22 points (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!). American power forward Mike Carlson (206-91, college: Truman St., agency: Duran International) chipped in 13 points. Swingman Mikel Motos (193-93, college: Sammic ISB, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 7 points and 9 rebounds and Lithuanian Jokubas Gintvainis (193-94) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gipuzkoa maintains first position with 10-4 record, which they share with Palencia and Oviedo. Loser Magia Huesca keeps the fifteenth place with ten games lost. Gipuzkoa will meet at home Melilla Baloncesto (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Magia Huesca will play against Burgos (#5) and hope to secure a win.
