Very expected game when 7th ranked Rieker KN (6-8) was crushed on the road by second ranked Kosice (13-3) 111-90 on Saturday. Kosice made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) who scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international center Michal Batka (204-87) chipped in 25 points and 8 rebounds. Coach Drazen Brajkovic's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Farad Cobb (183-93, college: Cincinnati, agency: Three Eye Sports) produced 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Wayne Langston (201-93, college: Murray St.) added 23 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Five Kosice and four Rieker KN players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Kosice. They maintain second place with 13-3 record behind leader Inter Bratislava. Rieker KN lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Kosice will meet Nitra (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rieker KN will play against Handlova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
