Regular Season Round 10: Psychiko - Aiolos Astakou 66-67

A very interesting game took place in Athens. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 9th ranked Psyhiko (4-6) to eighth ranked Aiolos Astakou (5-5) 67-66 in the fight for the seventh place. Psyhiko was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 20-8 third quarter run of Aiolos Astakou. They outrebounded Psyhiko 41-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. The former international point guard Fanis Koumpouras (185-83) fired 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Tasos Charismidis (203-81) chipped in 8 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Nikolaos Papanikolaou (209-85) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and forward Vasileios Mouratos (193-97) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Psyhiko's coach Nikos Remendelas let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aiolos Astakou moved-up to seventh place. Psyhiko at the other side dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Aiolos Astakou's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Pagrati (#16) in Athens and are hoping to win another game. Psyhiko will play on the road against Faros (#4) in Keratsiniou and hope to win that game.
