Regular Season Round 22: Hokkaido L. - Nagoya DD 93-99 OT

Sixth-ranked Hokkaido L. (6-17) made lots of trouble for third ranked Diamond Dolphins (13-10) in Saporro on Saturday. The visitors from Nagoya managed to secure only six-point victory 99-93. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hokkaido L.. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 24-18 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 22-16. Diamond Dolphins made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Diamond Dolphins outrebounded Hokkaido L. 47-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. Hokkaido L. was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. The other American import forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. Diamond Dolphins' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) produced 23 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Diamond Dolphins moved-up to second place. Hokkaido L. at the other side keeps the sixth position with 17 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
