There was a minor upset in Ciudad Juarez where 7th ranked Santos (7-10) were defeated by ninth ranked Ciudad (6-11) 70-65. The former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Tony Bennett (185-84, college: Bradley) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward B.J. West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and the former international forward Jesus Gonzalez (195-86) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Santos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ciudad moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Abejas. Santos at the other side keep the seventh position with ten games lost. Ciudad's next round opponent will be league's leader Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
