Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Real Madrid II (9-4) beat on the road 15th ranked Rivas (1-11) 83-75 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 8 points. Real Madrid II dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Rivas' 30. They outrebounded Rivas 32-19 including 21 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Javier Salson (199-82, college: Bloomfield, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Uruguayan-Greek forward Maximiliano Sole (198-88, agency: Duran International) who added 18 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Javier Mulas (198-85) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Javier Carpio (185-89) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Real Madrid II moved-up to second place in Group B. Rivas lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Real Madrid II will have a break next round. Rivas will play on the road against Tenerife Naut. (#6) in Santa Cruz and hope to win that game.
