Regular Season Round 12: San Fernando - San Juan 67-65

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked San Juan (4-6) was edged on the road by seventh ranked San Fernando (3-7) 67-65 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. San Juan was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Cesar Heras (195-97) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 5 rebounds and Jose Ruiz (200-97) who added 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. San Fernando's coach used entire bench in such tough game. The best for the losing side was guard Antonio Gomez (193-79) with 10 points and 9 rebounds and guard Jose Carrasco (186-94) scored 17 points. Four San Juan players scored in double figures. San Fernando maintains seventh position in Group D-B with 3-7 record. Loser San Juan keeps the fifth place with six games lost. San Fernando will face higher ranked Huelva (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. San Juan will play against Plasencia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
