Regular Season Round 14: Oxaco - Giants B 76-68

Very expected game when 10th ranked Giants B (5-8) lost to second ranked Oxaco (11-3) in Boechout 68-76 on Saturday. Power forward Mark De Meyer (194-88) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Point guard Christopher Pegg (183-82) contributed with 22 points and 6 assists for the winners. Point guard Marius Mwendanga (179-98) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Lander Kuijt (195-98) added 15 points in the effort for Giants B. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Oxaco have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gembo BBC and Waregem. Loser Giants B keeps the tenth place with eight games lost. Oxaco will face Royal Brussels (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Giants B will play against Melsele and hope to win that game.
