Regular Season Round 11: Artego Bydg. - Wisla Can-Pack 70-76

TBLK top team - Wisla Can-Pack (9-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Artego Bydg. (7-4) in Bydgoszcz 76-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Artego Bydg.. Wisla Can-Pack made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Artego Bydg. turnovers. Strangely Artego Bydg. outrebounded Wisla Can-Pack 47-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. Artego Bydg. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a quality performance for the former international center Ewelina Kobryn (193-82) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Spanish point guard Sandra Ygueravide (172-84) accounted for 18 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winning side. Four Wisla Can-Pack players scored in double figures. Jamaican-American point guard Maurita Reid (172-85, college: Miami, FL) came up with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Denesha Stallworth (190-92, college: Kentucky, agency: LBM Management) added 22 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Artego Bydg. in the defeat. Wisla Can-Pack have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-2 record, which they share with Sleza Wroclaw. Artego Bydg. at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with AZS UMCS and Energa Torun. Wisla Can-Pack will play against bottom-ranked MKK Siedlce (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Artego Bydg. will play against AZS UMCS (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
