Regular Season Round 10: Maccabi T-A - Ironi Nahariya 99-93

Winner League top team - Maccabi T-A (10-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat tenth ranked Ironi Nahariya (5-7) in Tel-Aviv 99-93. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ironi Nahariya. Maccabi T-A made 25-of-28 charity shots (89.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of Guinea-Bissau-American center Colton Iverson (212-89, college: Colorado St., agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) who added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) with 19 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Gilbert Brown (198-87, college: Pittsburgh) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maccabi T-A maintains first position with 10-2 record. Ironi Nahariya at the other side dropped to the seventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Maccabi T-A will play against Hapoel Eilat (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ironi Nahariya will play against the league's second-placed Hapoel Holon and hopes to get back on the winning track.
