Regular Season Round 10: Olimpi - Mgzavrebi 87-70

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Tbilisi: Olimpi (#7) and Mgzavrebi (#8). Olimpi (2-8) smashed visiting Mgzavrebi (0-9) by 17 points 87-70. Mgzavrebi was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 51-33 second half run of Olimpi. They also forced 21 Mgzavrebi turnovers. The former international guard Revaz Rogava (191-93) notched 16 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and American guard Tre Burnette (196, college: S.Dakota) supported him with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Olimpi's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists by American guard Darnell Taylor (193-91, college: CS San Marcos) did not help to save the game for Mgzavrebi. His fellow American import center Reggie Murphy (208-91, college: Henderson St.) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Five Olimpi and four Mgzavrebi players scored in double figures. Olimpi maintains seventh position with 2-8 record. Mgzavrebi at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Olimpi will play against league's second-placed Kutaisi at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mgzavrebi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Dinamo Tbilisi.
