Regular Season Round 14: TKM Wloclawek - AZS PP 68-62

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked AZS PP (2-11) lost on the road to twelfth ranked TKM Wloclawek (2-10) 68-62 on Saturday. TKM Wloclawek outrebounded AZS PP 46-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. Forward Grzegorz Soltysiak (198-87) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Rafal Komenda (200-98) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Maciej Krzyminski (184-97) replied with 22 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and guard Jan Sobiech (192-96) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for AZS PP. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. TKM Wloclawek moved-up to eleventh place in Group A. AZS PP lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. TKM Wloclawek will face higher ranked Asseco II (#7) in Gdynia in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AZS PP will play at home against the league's second-placed AZS UMK Torun (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
