Regular Season Round 22: Gunma - Ehime OV 87-65

The game between Top Four teams took place in Gunma. First ranked host Gunma (17-4) smashed 4th ranked Orange Vikings (7-14) 87-65. The game was mostly controlled by Gunma. Orange Vikings was better in third quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Orange Vikings to just 5 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Orange Vikings 51-30 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) contributed with 9 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Gunma's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and guard Toshino Tatsuhiko (185-88) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for Orange Vikings. Gunma have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-4 record, which they share with Toyotsu FE. Orange Vikings at the other side keep the fourth place with 14 games lost. Gunma's next round opponent will be again Orange Vikings (#4) in Matsuyama.
