There was an upset when higher ranked Azuqueca (7-5) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Villarrobledo (7-6) 69-65 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Villarrobledo had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Reco McCarter (198-90, college: Campbell) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Artur Alaminos (205-91) who added 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Villarrobledo players scored in double figures. Villarrobledo's coach Manuel Jimenez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Serbian power forward Branislav Tomic (205-80) with 22 points and 9 rebounds and Jorge Tejera (200-92) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Villarrobledo maintains tenth position in Group B with 7-6 record. Loser Azuqueca dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. Villarrobledo will have a break next round.
