Regular Season Round 12: Araski - Gran Canaria 79-66

Very expected game in Vitoria-Gasteiz where 14th ranked Gran Canaria (2-10) was defeated by fourth ranked Araski (8-4) 79-66. The game was mostly controlled by Araski. Gran Canaria was better in third quarter 26-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Araski players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Gran Canaria's players. It was a good game for American Margaret Roundtree (183-88, college: Gardner-Webb) who led her team to a victory with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Argentinian forward Maria Lineira (181-83) contributed with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Roundtree is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Araski's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Breanna Brock (187-90, college: Missouri, agency: Gamble Sports Management) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and forward Maria Royo (178-86) added 14 points in the effort for Gran Canaria. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Araski maintains fourth position with 8-4 record. Gran Canaria at the other side stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Araski's next round opponent will be Zamarat (#13) in Zamora and are hoping to win another game. Gran Canaria will play at home against the league's leader Perfumerias Avenida and hope to win that game.
