Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Kagoshima (2-19) was defeated on the road by second ranked Fukushima (14-7) 87-74 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 53-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Fukushima made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Guard Shota Kanno (187-92) scored 26 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) chipped in 14 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and American-Panamanian forward Tymell Murphy (196-90, college: FIU) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Kagoshima players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukushima maintains second position with 14-7 record having just three points less than leader Kumamoto V. Kagoshima lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 19 games lost. Fukushima will face again Kagoshima (#6) in Renova in the next round.
