Very important is a home loss of third ranked Tokyo Z (9-12) against fourth ranked Yamagata (11-10) on Saturday night. Host Tokyo Z was defeated by Yamagata in a tough game in Tokyo 69-75. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-69. Yamagata dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Z's 26. They outrebounded Tokyo Z 42-29 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-88, college: California) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Yuta Kojima (192-83) chipped in 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Yamagata's coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) added 18 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Yamagata moved-up to third place, which they share with Cyberdyne IR. Loser Tokyo Z keeps the third position with 12 games lost. They share it with Aomori Watts. Yamagata will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tokyo Z will play again against Yamagata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
