Second Stage Round 21: Sichuan - Bayi 71-80

An interesting game for Bayi Kylin (14-7) which played road game in Sichuan against 4th placed Whale (7-12). First ranked Bayi Kylin managed to get a 9-point victory 80-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Whale. The best player for the winners was international forward MengXin Sun (190-93) who scored 29 points and 8 rebounds. International center Mengran Sun (197-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Tina Charles (193-88, college: Connecticut) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Fangzhu Gong (170-91) added 23 points and 5 assists respectively. Five Bayi Kylin and four Whale players scored in double figures. Whale's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bayi Kylin maintains first place in Group B with 14-7 record. Newly promoted Whale dropped to the third position with 12 games lost. Bayi Kylin's next round opponent will be Heilongjiang Chenneng (#3) in Harbin, which may be the game of the day. Whale will play on the road against Liaoning Hengye in Anshan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
