The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Huelva's (7-3) road victory over one of their biggest challengers Utrera (5-5) 66-52 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Pedro Farina (198-92, college: South Plains JC) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center Juan Ignacio Romero (213-73) who added 8 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Huelva's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Jordan Thomas (196, college: St.Mary's, KS) with 20 points and guard Juan Toledo (190-96) scored 10 points and 5 steals. Huelva maintains third position in Group D-B with 7-3 record having just two points less than leader Chantada. Loser Utrera keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Huelva will face San Fernando (#7) at home in the next round. Utrera will play against the league's second-placed Yosiquese in Cordiba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
