Regular Season Round 3: Sagesse - Hoops 79-77

Important game to mention about took place in Beirut. Sagesse (1-2) saved a 2-point victory at home edging Hoops Club (0-3) 79-77 on Saturday evening. Hoops Club was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 9-point lead after three quarters before a 27-16 charge of Sagesse, which allowed them to win the game. Sagesse outrebounded Hoops Club 54-36 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) who led his team to a victory with 37 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Bosnian-Serbian center Ratko Varda (212-79, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American center Darrius Garrett (206-90, college: Richmond) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 16 rebounds and 6 blocks and international point guard Ali Mezher (182-94) added 21 points and 4 assists in the effort for Hoops Club. Sagesse's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beirut to the arena Homenetmen.
