Regular Season Round 17: Inter Bratislava - Nitra 95-35

SBL top team - Inter Bratislava (14-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Nitra (3-14) 95-35. Inter Bratislava held Nitra to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 49.2 percent accuracy of the winners and made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game, while Nitra only scored four points from the stripe. Inter Bratislava forced 29 Nitra turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Nitra's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Inter Bratislava made 7 blocks. 26 personal fouls committed by Nitra helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international power forward Radoslav Rancik (205-79, college: St.Cloud St., agency: BeoBasket) stepped up and scored 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Montenegrin point guard Goran Bulatovic (186-88) chipped in 10 points and 6 assists. Inter Bratislava's coach Oliver Vidin felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian forward Filip Pejovic (198-89, college: Erskine) responded with 9 points and 13 rebounds and Serbian forward Goran Ostojic (205-91) scored 2 points and 9 rebounds. Inter Bratislava have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-2 record. Nitra lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Inter Bratislava will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nitra will play at home against the league's second-placed Kosice (#2) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
