There was no surprise when 9th ranked Katy Wroclawskie (4-9) lost to second ranked Gornik (12-1) in Walbrzych 76-84 on Saturday. Rafal Niesobski (189-82) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) contributed with 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Wojciech Suprun (203-82) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Slawomir Dzwilewski (193-84) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Katy Wroclawskie. Four Katy Wroclawskie players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gornik have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group D with 12-1 record having just one victory less than leader AZS PK. Katy Wroclawskie lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with nine games lost. Gornik will have a break next round. Katy Wroclawskie will play at home against WKK Wroclaw (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
