Regular Season Round 12: Good Angels - Piestanske C. 75-52

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Piestanske C. (8-1) in Kosice on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Good Angels (11-1) 75-52. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Piestanske C.. Good Angels dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Piestanske C.'s 20 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Zuzana Zirkova (175-80) who scored 9 points and 5 assists. The former international center Anna Jurcenkova (195-85) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Good Angels' coach Peter Jankovic felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Good Angels have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-1 record. Piestanske C. at the other side keeps the second place with one game lost. Good Angels are looking forward to face MBK Ruzomberok (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Piestanske C. will play against Samorin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
