Regular Season Round 10: Dinamo Tbilisi - Sokhumi 108-86

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Dinamo Tbilisi (#1) and Sokhumi (#6). Dinamo Tbilisi (9-0) smashed visiting Sokhumi (2-7) by 22 points 108-86. The game without a history. Dinamo Tbilisi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Dinamo Tbilisi forced 21 Sokhumi turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. Levani Grdzelidze (185-94) scored 25 points and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian center Nikola Maravic (212-89, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 15 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side power forward Oleksandr Tishchenko (205-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Dwayne Lathan (190-89, college: Indiana St.) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Five Dinamo Tbilisi and four Sokhumi players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dinamo Tbilisi have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record. Sokhumi at the other side keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Mgzavrebi.
