No shocking result in a game when second ranked Tochigi Brex (17-4) beat 5th ranked Ryukyu GK (10-13) in Okinawa 78-71 on Sunday. Ryukyu GK trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 24-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-78 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Ryukyu GK 51-30 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The former international guard Yuta Tabuse (173-80, college: BYU-Hawaii) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) answered with 13 points and swingman Shuhei Kitagawa (185-85) added 10 points in the effort for Ryukyu GK. Ryukyu GK's coach Tsutomu Isa tested twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Tochigi Brex. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Toyota Alvark. Ryukyu GK lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the fifth place with 13 games lost. Tochigi Brex will face Kyoto Hannar. (#4) on the road in the next round. Ryukyu GK will play against Osaka Evessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
