Liga Endesa top team - Real Madrid (10-1) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat eighth ranked RETAbet BB (6-5) in Bilbao 85-77. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-13. But RETAbet BB won third quarter 24-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Madrid forced 20 RETAbet BB turnovers. The best player for the winners was Mexican power forward Gustavo Ayon (207-85, college: San Jose St.) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Slovenian point guard Luka Doncic (201-99) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. Five Real Madrid players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (208-91) who recorded 23 points and American-Kosovan swingman Scott Bamforth (188-89, college: Weber St., agency: BeoBasket) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Real Madrid have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 10-1 record. Loser RETAbet BB keeps the eighth place with five games lost. Real Madrid will meet at home Blusens Monbus (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. RETAbet BB will play against UCAM Murcia and hope to secure a win.
