Regular Season Round 12: Easo - Cantbasket 78-67

Date: December 11, 2016
Everything could happen in San Sebastian at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Easo and one of their biggest challengers Cantbasket had identical 7-2 record. This time Easo used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Santander 78-67 on Sunday night. It was a key game for the second position in Group A-A. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-67. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Inigo Del Valle (188-87) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 5 assists and forward Asier Azpeitia (192-98) who added 8 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Paul Larsen (198-92, college: USC Aiken) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Jaime Garcia (194-87) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Easo (8-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group A-A, which they share with Ardoi. Loser Cantbasket dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Easo will face league's leader Estela in Santander in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cantbasket will play at home against TAKE Tolosa and hope to win that game.
