Regular Season Round 12: Valmontone - Catanzaro 80-61

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Valmontone (11-1) outplayed at home 8th ranked Catanzaro (4-7) 80-61 on Sunday. Strangely Catanzaro outrebounded Valmontone 41-26 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for naturalized Argentinian swingman Manuel Carrizo (198-80, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots). The former international power forward Luca Bisconti (206-82) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Valmontone players scored in double figures. Valmontone's coach Agostino Origlio allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Lorenzo Monacelli (185-97) replied with 15 points and forward Dario Guadagnola (198-88) added 7 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Catanzaro. Valmontone maintains second position in B with 11-1 record having just two point less than leader Omegna. Loser Catanzaro dropped to the twelfth place with seven games lost. Valmontone will face league's leader Napoli Cuore on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Catanzaro will play against Cassino (#6) and hope to win that game.
