Regular Season Round 23: Puerto Montt - Tinguiririca S.F. 95-86

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Tinguiririca S.F. (5-19) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Puerto Montt (10-12) 95-86. The game without a history. Puerto Montt led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Mike Phillips (201-90, college: Howard) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Louis Munks (190-90, college: Prairie View A&M) accounted for 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Puerto Montt players scored in double figures. Argentinian power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (196-88) came up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Michael Ernst (187-82) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Tinguiririca S.F. in the defeat. Puerto Montt maintains ninth place with 10-12 record. Tinguiririca S.F. lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost. Puerto Montt's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Los Leones in Quilpue and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tinguiririca S.F. will play at home against Las Animas (#7) and hope to win that game.
