Regular Season Round 23: Shinshu BW - Cyberdyne IR 55-60

Rather expected game in Nagano where 6th ranked Shinshu BW (6-16) was defeated by third ranked Cyberdyne IR (12-10) 60-55 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Shinshu BW won third quarter 16-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Cyberdyne IR won last quarter 18-15. Cyberdyne IR outrebounded Shinshu BW 39-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Xavier Ford (201-93, college: Buffalo) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Cyberdyne IR's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Sho Uesugi (190-89) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Cyberdyne IR maintains third place with 12-10 record having five points less than leader Kumamoto V., which they share with Yamagata. Shinshu BW lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with 16 games lost. Cyberdyne IR will face Dragonflies (#3) in Hiroshima in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Shinshu BW will play on the road against Orange Vikings in Matsuyama and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
