Regular Season Round 23: Nishinomiya S. - Shimane SM 64-65

There was a small surprise in Hyogo where second ranked Shimane Magic (17-5) edged second-ranked Nishinomiya S. (15-7) 65-64 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 21-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St.) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. Shimane Magic's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Noriaki Douhara (178-89) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and guard Tadahiro Yanagawa (183-86) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. They have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Shimane Magic keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Nishinomiya S. keeps the second place with seven games lost. Shimane Magic will face league's leader Toyotsu FE in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
