Leader Shanghai Sharks delivered the fifteenth victory. This time they beat 14th ranked TianJin Steel (5-11) 109-98. Shanghai Sharks made 28-of-33 charity shots (84.8 percent) during the game. Shanghai Sharks outrebounded TianJin Steel 53-40 including 16 on the offensive glass. TianJin Steel was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) who helped to win the game recording 42 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists. French Guerschon Yabusele (201-95) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) replied with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 19 rebounds and American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) added 20 points and 4 assists in the effort for TianJin Steel. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks (15-1) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position. TianJin Steel lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 11 games lost. Shanghai Sharks will play against Beijing Ducks (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. TianJin Steel will play against Fujian (#18) in Jinjiang and hopes to get back on the winning track.
