Regular Season Round 12: San Miniato - Firenze Enic 78-85

There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Firenze Enic (2-10) won against on the road higher ranked San Miniato (7-5) 85-78 on Sunday. Firenze Enic made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. Firenze Enic outrebounded San Miniato 34-20 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for swingman Giovanni Rugolo (196-81, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!). Center Lorenzo Galmarini (200-95) contributed with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Firenze Enic players scored in double figures. Senegalese Serigne Sam Gaye (198-96) replied with 15 points and guard Francesco Stefanelli (190-95) added 14 points and 5 steals in the effort for San Miniato. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Firenze Enic moved-up to fifteenth place in B, which they share with Iseo and Sestu. Loser San Miniato dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Firenze Enic's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Firenze Fiorentina.
