There was no surprise when 14th ranked Valdiceppo (3-8) lost on the road to fifth ranked Pescara (8-4) 88-77 on Sunday. Pescara outrebounded Valdiceppo 46-28 including a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for forward Emidio Di Donato (199-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 22 rebounds. Guard Simone Pepe (184-93, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 30 points for the winners. Four Pescara players scored in double figures. Center Alessandro Panzieri (201-95, college: High School) replied with 24 points and 6 rebounds and Umberto Meschini (190-94) added 22 points in the effort for Valdiceppo. Valdiceppo's coach Paolo Pierotti let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pescara maintains fifth position in B with 8-4 record, which they share with Crema and Lecco. Newly promoted Valdiceppo keeps the fourteenth place with eight games lost. Pescara will face Porto S.Elpidio (#6) on the road in the next round. Valdiceppo will play against San Severo (#3) and hope to win that game.
