Regular Season Round 11: Lahti - Porvoon Tarmo 96-77

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Lahti as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Division. Lahti smashed 6th ranked Porvoon Tarmo at home 96-77. The game was mostly controlled by Lahti. Porvoon Tarmo was better in third quarter 27-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lahti dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Porvoon Tarmo's 30. They outrebounded Porvoon Tarmo 51-31 including 37 on the defensive glass. Lahti players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American guard Rashad Smith (201-93, college: Tulsa) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Aleksanteri Ahola (185-95) contributed with 18 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Cameron Clark (190-93, college: Southwestern, KS) answered with 23 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Levi Giese (206-90, college: Lafayette) added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Porvoon Tarmo. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Porvoon Tarmo at the other side dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. Porvoon Tarmo will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Lahti will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Porvoon Tarmo on the road.
