Rather expected game when 6th ranked Aanekosken (5-7) was crushed on the road by third ranked Espoo Utd (8-4) 106-55 on Sunday. The game without a history. Espoo Utd led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Aanekosken's 38. Espoo Utd forced 23 Aanekosken turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Aanekosken's players. American forward Shenita Landry (188-87, college: Temple) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals for the winners and the former international point guard Reetta Piipari (170-80, college: Xavier) chipped in 14 points and 8 assists. Four Espoo Utd players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Kenya Robinson (183-70, college: New Orleans) responded with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the other American import guard Faith Randolph (178, college: Virginia) scored 15 points and 6 assists. Newly promoted Espoo Utd maintains third place with 8-4 record having four points less than leader HyPo. Loser Aanekosken keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Espoo Utd will face Peli-Karhut (#9) in Kotka in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Aanekosken will play on the road against ViVe in Vimpeli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
