Regular Season Round 23: Hitachi SR - Osaka Evessa 61-78

Another interesting game for Osaka Evessa (13-10) which played in Tokyo against second-ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (12-11). Third ranked Osaka Evessa had an easy win 78-61. The game without a history. Osaka Evessa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) helped adding 10 points and 10 rebounds. Osaka Evessa's coach Dai Oketani allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Yuki Mitsuhara (198-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) scored 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa moved-up to second place, which they share with Nagoya DD. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the second position with 11 games lost. They share it with Sanen and Niigata Albirex. Osaka Evessa will play against Ryukyu GK (#5) in Okinawa in the next round. Hitachi Sunrockers will play on the road against the league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
