Regular Season Round 12: Cefalu - Viterbo SA 92-69

Very predictable result when tenth ranked Cefalu (5-6) rolled over at home 15th ranked Viterbo SA (2-10) 92-69 on Sunday. Cefalu dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Viterbo SA's 26 and made 22-of-23 free shots (95.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Viterbo SA 42-21 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cefalu looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Viterbo SA's players. It was a good game for power forward Riccardo Malagoli (209-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Point guard Jordan Losi (182-80) contributed with 5 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners. Four Cefalu players scored in double figures. Cefalu's coach Fabio Nardone felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Polish power forward Sandro Listwon (204-93) replied with 20 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Luca Fowler (192-96) added 16 points in the effort for Viterbo SA. Cefalu moved-up to eighth place in B. Loser Viterbo SA keeps the fifteenth position with ten games lost. Cefalu will face higher ranked Palestrina (#3) in Roma in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Viterbo SA will play at home against Forli Tigers (#7) and hope to win that game.
