Regular Season Round 12: Giulianova - Venafro 87-75

Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Giulianova (6-6) defeated at home bottom-ranked Venafro (0-12) 87-75 on Sunday. Giulianova made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Giulianova outrebounded Venafro 36-24 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Giulianova especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Venafro was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for point guard Simone Colonnelli (185-91) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Danilo Gallerini (185-80) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Point guard Marco Rossi (183-81, agency: SPORTlab Agency) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds and guard Mario Tamburrini (188-94) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Venafro. Venafro's coach Arturo Mascio let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Giulianova moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Desio and Padova. Loser Venafro still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Giulianova will face Matera (#8) on the road in the next round. Venafro will play against Bisceglie (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
