Regular Season Round 7: Arak - Azad 78-67

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Azad (5-2) against fourth ranked Arak (5-2) on Monday night. Visiting Azad was defeated by Arak in Arak 78-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Azad. It was an exceptional evening for American-Georgian forward Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 4 assists. International Hamed Afagh (193-83) accounted for 15 points and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Arak players scored in double figures. American power forward Joseph Jones (206-86, college: Texas A&M) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import swingman J.P. Prince (203-87, college: Tennessee) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Azad in the defeat. Azad's coach Farzad Kouhian rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Arak moved-up to second place, which they share with Azad and Naft Abadan. Arak will play against Tabriz (#5) on the road in the next round. Azad will play against Naft Abadan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
