Regular Season Round 3: Mayrouba - Byblos 74-77

The most exciting game of round 3 in the Pepsi LBL took place in Mayrouba. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of Mayrouba (1-2) to Byblos (3-0) 77-74 on Monday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-19. But Mayrouba won second period 14-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Byblos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for international Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) who led his team to a victory with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Clay Tucker (196-80, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) contributed with 21 points and 5 assists for the winners. American center Robert Upshaw (213-94, college: Washington) answered with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward John Bohannon (210-91, college: UTEP) added 13 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Mayrouba. Byblos is looking forward to face Al Riyadi (#5) in Beirut in the next round. Mayrouba will play on the road against Hoops Club in Beirut and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
