There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Wisla Krakow (3-9) defeated at home 11th ranked AZS PCz (3-10) 80-69 on Monday. Wisla Krakow looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Wisla Krakow made 9 blocks. Power forward Jakub Zaczek (204-96) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks. Forward Wojciech Gorgon (194-89) contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Wisla Krakow players scored in double figures. Wisla Krakow's coach Piotr Piecuch used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Mateusz Gazarkiewicz (193-91) replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds and forward Tomasz Nogalski (192-79) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for AZS PCz. Wisla Krakow moved-up to tenth place in Group C, which they share with Zaglebie. AZS PCz lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. Wisla Krakow will face higher ranked Przemysl (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AZS PCz will play against Polonia Bytom (#3) and hope to win that game.
