Regular Season Round 11: MIA-RO Cantu - Scandone AV 75-74

A very close game took place in Cantu between AV Cantu and Scandone AV. Fourteenth ranked AV Cantu (4-7) got a very close home victory over 4th placed Scandone AV (7-4). AV Cantu managed to escape with a 1-point win 75-74 on Monday evening. Scandone AV was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 10-point lead after three quarters before a 28-17 charge of AV Cantu, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Dominic Waters (185-86, college: Portland St., agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 14 points and 8 assists for the winning side. American-Liberian point guard Joe Ragland (182-89, college: Wichita St.) came up with 22 points and Ukrainian center Kyrylo Fesenko (216-86) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Scandone AV in the defeat. Scandone AV's coach Stefano Sacripanti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. AV Cantu moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Scandone AV keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with JuveCaserta. AV Cantu will meet The Flexx PT (#11) in the next round. Scandone AV will play against Vanoli Cremona (#16) and hope to secure a win.
