Regular Season Round 9: Bashkimi - Beroe 83-66

The game between second ranked Bulgarian Beroe (4-3) and fourth ranked Kosovan Bashkimi (4-4) was the most important one in the last round on Tuesday night. Beroe was defeated by Bashkimi in Prizren 83-66. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-66. Bashkimi made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Bashkimi outrebounded Beroe 35-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: Inception Sports) who scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Eric Palm (188-87, college: McKendree) chipped in 24 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Shane Gibson (188-90, college: Sacred Heart) who recorded 15 points and 4 assists and DR Congolese forward Omari Gudul (208-94, college: Angelo St., agency: Two Points) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Four Beroe players scored in double figures. Beroe's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Bashkimi moved-up to third place in Group A. Beroe at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Feni Industries. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
