Regular Season Round 13: Gorizont II - Olimpia 34-88

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Gorizont II (2-9) was smashed by third ranked Olimpia GrGAU (9-3) in Minsk 88-34 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Olimpia GrGAU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gorizont II to just 4 points in second and third quarters and to 13 points in first half. Olimpia GrGAU dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Gorizont II's 28. Olimpia GrGAU forced 42 Gorizont II turnovers. Quite impressive performance for international point guard Alena Holubeva (176-94) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 steals. Maryia Rashchenia (186-92) contributed with 6 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Darya Semiletnikova (-1) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Darya Kul (190-1) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Gorizont II. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Olimpia GrGAU maintains third place with 9-3 record having just two points less than leader Gorizont. Gorizont II lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost.
